Living in The Field of Dreams

The film ‘Field of Dreams,’ based on the novel ‘Shoeless Joe,’ by WP Kinsella, offers some seriously yummy food for thought. At first glance, it may feel too fantastical to be real; the idea that we could build a baseball field in the middle of Iowa and know that people will come to see (long-)dead guys play ball may seem like too much of a stretch to contemplate. On closer inspection, though, it’s full of hope, trust and enchantment that offers a beautiful alternative to the fear-based reality in which so many of us live.
