Honour your Courage

I was out for a walk this week with the dogs and ran into a woman taking some photos. Of course I started talking, because that’s what I do. In the course of the conversation, we were sharing some of our stories, and she said ‘you are so courageous!’ It got me thinking, I don’t always share stuff I’m going through or how I’m living, because it’s become so normal to me. She reminded me that many of the choices I’ve made in the past ten years are incredibly courageous. This is the thing with normalising our own experience – it’s one of those things I often question about what to share and what not to share. It feels so completely normal and natural to Continue reading Honour your Courage

Honour your Process

Here’s a story about how my week went 🙂 There are a lot of changes happening, and lots of expansion. This is for me personally and as a collective. There’s also a big and beautiful Full Moon coming up this weekend, which is usually an extra-sensitive time for sensitive folks. All week I felt a little unsettled. It wasn’t really clear what was going on but there needed to be a shift. I used to resist this stuff, but that got me nowhere, so I let it lead me to what I needed. Wednesday afternoon, I knew I really needed to release something, so I looked through the available films here and it felt like War Horse was the one. As soon as the opening Continue reading Honour your Process

Absolute Presence

There is no resistance in absolute presence. There can’t be, because it’s new in each moment. Resistance is a build up from past experience – like a memory or echo of a situation that has gone before, and left an imprint. By holding someone or something in a past state, the ability to respond to what actually IS, is impeded. It can result in stagnation and looping – as if the past is still active in the present. Presence is a moment by moment process. It allows for new truths to be built around currently existing facts and circumstances, without the echoes of the past creating resistance to the infinite potential in each new moment. Of course it’s tied in to letting go (one of Continue reading Absolute Presence

Integration and Self-Responsibility

Back in March, I wrote about self-responsibility as an empath’s super-power. Since then, as is the way with most insights, I’ve been taken deeper and deeper into the understanding of the this and how it plays out in the world. The concept of responsibility has always been a tricky one for me to understand. Where does my responsibility begin and end? What am I responsible for and what am I not? When you grow up parenting your parent, it’s difficult to find that distinction. You become everyone else’s caregiver (whether physically, energetically, emotionally or otherwise) and forget somewhere along the way the power of claiming your own needs. As I’ve examined this topic more in-depth, I’ve discovered a whole lot of ways I’ve misunderstood the Continue reading Integration and Self-Responsibility

Light and Dark (a Solstice message)

The beautiful Solstice energy lasts for a few days and feels like a portal for ever-increasing light energy. Yesterday, when I asked if there was a message for me to share, I heard, ‘just bask in it.’ Last night, despite feeling physically tired, I was unable to sleep. I realised it was connected to the Solstice, and took the opportunity to welcome in the light. I lay in bed, saying aloud, ‘I welcome the light, I welcome the light,’ and my body started to buzz with the intensity of it. It was almost frightening, akin to the first stirrings of a massive change. This morning I got to thinking about the idea of light and darkness as a long-held collective storyline. Christianity, for one, has Continue reading Light and Dark (a Solstice message)
